Believe : Believe it or not, there are rare reports throughout the world of women conceiving with their own eggs and delivering babies. However, these pregnancies are material for the guinness book of world records, and no woman can expect to conceive after 60 with her own eggs. The average age of menopause is 51, so most women have no menstrual periods by then. Even women with normal menstrual periods have markedly diminished fertility by age 40, so that only 13% of women can conceive with their own eggs after age 45. In vitro fertilization using donated eggs has allowed more women in their forties to conceive. Theoretically, pregnancy can be established in the uterus after age 60, and it has been done. However, there are great concerns about the health of the woman and the child, and almost all programs in the United States believe it is wise to limit conception with egg donation to healthy women aged 50 or under. With more data about pregnancy outcomes, some programs will consider slightly older women who are very healthy.

I : I agree with dr fowler, you can't conceive with your own eggs. It's technically possible for you to get pregnant with donated eggs or embryos, but most physicians will not recommend this treatment for a woman in her 60's or even 70's. Almost all us fertility clinics have a maximum age at which they will allow a woman to pursue treatment. In my practice, this is up to 54 years old if using donated eggs, which is 3 years past the average age at which a woman stops her periods (menopause). Other clinics have different age limits. There are physicians outside the us who have pushed beyond these age limits, but this may have increased risks for mom and baby which in my view are not justifiable. Sorry that this is not the answer you want. Best wishes.
