A member asked:

How long do i need to wait after a coronary stent operation to go on a commercial airline flight?

Not long!: Patients who undergo this procedure without complications can safely fly within a week or so. Please make sure your cardiologist is involved in this decision. There are nuances to every cardiac procedure. If you had a large bruise in te groin, developed leg swelling, heart rhythm abnormalities during or after the procedure, you certainly want to wait a while.

No waiting: After a coronary stent, assuming everything else is ok, blood flow has been restored to the affected area. There is no danger from getting on a flight.
