There : There is no official interaction between Prednisone and alcohol, but alcohol weakens the stomach lining, as does prednisone, so in theory, you're more apt to get a stomach ulcer by mixing the two. The safest thing to do is avoid alcohol while on the prednisone. I've attached a link that discusses this very subject.

It can be: A problem. Prednisone can increase the chance of increased stomach acid and inflammation, like gastritis or even stomach/duodenal ulcers. Alcohol may contribute to this as well. You didn't say why you are on it, but I am guessing a COPD exacerbation, which means you probably smoke. The combo of alcohol, tobacco and Prednisone is not a good one for your GI tract. Avoid the beer, stop smoking.
