Unfortunately, : Unfortunately, this is common when starting new birth control pills. Be sure that you are taking your pills consistently every day. They work best if you take them as closely to the same time each day, within 2-4 hours, for best effectiveness. Continue taking them every day. If you continue to have break through bleeding after the first 3 months, you should return to the provider that prescribed the pills for re-evaluation.
