Hello. : Hello. If you start smoking at age 13 and keep smoking - you bet you could develop cancer. However, it would not be likely for you to develop lung cancer at age 13 from smoking - it takes a while for all the damage to build up. But - did you know that besides causing cancer, that cigarettes contain toxins that are poisonous to our bodies. If you are a smoker, you might not run as fast and your bad cigarette breath would probably turn people off. As a doctor, i want to congratulate on your decision to stop smoking immediately. Stop before you get addicted. By stopping now, it will improve your health. Way to go!

Not likely: If you are talking about getting a smoking-related cancer at 13, the answer is no. It takes decades of smoking in most people to cause those cancers caused by smoking - lung, mouth and throat, stomach, esophagus, breast and others. There are kinds of cancers found in younger people, like certain kinds of leukemia, as well as a few others, but they are not caused by smoking, if you smoke, stop!
