Multifactorial: There is no one cause for adhd. Both genetic and environmental factors contribute. Where a child lives does not play a role in its causation but availability of health providers knowledgable in diagnosing adhd may play a role in a child getting diagnosed or not.

No: ADHD is a chemical abnormality involving brain transmitters Dopamine and Nor Epinephrin. Environmental factors can affect a child's ability to focus such as noise in the classroom. Excess sugar and carbohydrates in the diet can affect the ability to focus and attend. There are many psychosocial factors such as abuse can cause inattentiveness. However, these do not cause ADHD.

Many reasons: Multifactorial - medicine's fancy word for many reasons can contribute to the condition. Genetics, exposures to toxins while in womb, sleep deprivation, etc. key to remember a child's mind develops over time and 70 percent will "outgrow" a lot of the issues. If you are unsure about the diagnose get a second opinion. Eat balanced meals, avoid excessive processed foods and plenty of sleep.
