Hello. : Hello. It is not normal to go 15 days without having a bowel movement. I suspect your mother is worried about this. Will you be giving yourself the enema or will your mother be giving it to you? Have you required enemas in the past? If so, do you struggle, when the enema is given? Are you and your mother angry and arguing with each other? Are you afraid of the enema or do you just not want to have it? If a person struggles when an object is introduced into the anus it could cause pain or sometimes an injury. That is why I am asking about people's anger levels. It is best to do this type of thing when people are calm. I suggest that you might want to show this question and answer to your mother. I recommend that you and your mother talk to your pediatrician. He or she knows your medical history the best and knows what the appropriate treatment options are. It sounds like you aren't willing to do your part, if you aren't willing to eat healthier foods. Maybe you could compromise on this issue, so that you don't ever have to go 15 days without a bowel movement. I can't answer if your mom is right in making you take an enema. She may feel that she has no other choice due to your obstipation. It is essential that if an enema is performed, that both parties are calm. If you and your mother have not had a discussion with your doctor about use of enemas, then you probably should.
