Cod liver oil: Cod liver oil is safe as long as the product is free of pesticides and contaminants. Search for brands with safety reputation and look for oils that are molecularly distilled to remove contaminants.

Cod liver oil is: Rich in vitamin a and d. It was given to millions of kids at one time for the vitamin d mostly when rickets was a more common problem in the us. I think theres a few times i saw the "little rascals" get there cod liver oil on old reruns. Im not sure if there is a true arthritis connection, but rickets is a bone disease from too little vitamin d and perhaps thats how the connection has been made.
