If : If your nasal bones are cut during rhinoplasty, it is best not to let your glasses rest on your nose for several weeks, postoperatively. However, you can wear them by taping them to your forehead.

In : In general, it is preferable to wait 1-2 weeks following rhinoplasty if the nasal bones have been fractured before wearing glasses in their normal position, particularly if they are heavy frames. If the glasses are leaving an indent in the skin or are uncomfortable to wear, you probably shouldn't be wearing them that early. Oftentimes the glasses will need to be readjusted with regard to the pad position if the nasal bones have been narrowed or the bones realigned in a different position. Practical options might be to wear the glasses lower on your nose, use of contacts if you have them, magnifying glass for close reading, etc. Typically, wearing glasses doesn't damage the rhinoplasty result but is often impractical in the usual position with a cast/splint on the first week.

You'll : You'll probably get a lot of different answers regarding wearing glasses after rhinoplasty. The important thing is to follow your actual surgeon's instructions. If the nasal bones were fractured during your procedure there shouldn't be a concern with wearing your glasses. If there were fractures made you do need to be careful about wearing glasses afterward once the cast is removed 1 week (or so) after surgery. The nasal bones take about 6 weeks to heal so in the meantime it is easier than normal to shift those bones. You'd hate to have that happen. If your glasses are light you may be okay to wear them like normal even after the cast is removed. Otherwise, your can temporarily wear contacts, keep your cast to wear, or tape the glasses to your forehead to keep them from resting on your nose. The main point is to check with your surgeon to find out what you should do in your specific case.

Less: I allow patients to wear glasses when the cast is in place. If I have done bone work i suggest people not wear them for 4-5 more weeks until the bones heal. If you have to wear them put a piece of tape around the bar over your nose and tape them to your forehead to keep the weight off your nose. A little like "revenge of the nerds" but effective to protect the nasal bones while they heal.
