Hello. : Hello. I don't know how old you are (adult? Child?) it is usually recommended that if iron supplementation is necessary for an infant or child that it be supervised by a doctor. Here is a guide that i found while researching this answer for you. Infants 7 - 12 months: 11 mg daily children 1 - 3 years: 7 mg daily children 4 - 8 years: 10 mg daily children 9 - 13 years: 8 mg daily male children 14 - 18 years: 11 mg daily female children 14 - 18 years: 15 mg daily an overdoes of iron can irritate the stomach wall. This can lead to ulcers with nausea and vomiting, as well as abdominal pain. Iron can be transported in the bloodstream to other organs where it can cause damage. According to the U.S. Food and drug administration (fda), taking up to 45 mg of iron per day is safe (however, this may be for adults). I recommend that your mom talk with your doctor to ensure that if you need iron, that you are receiving the right amount.
