Prenatal : Prenatal vitamins don't help you to conceive, but you should take one with at least 800 micrograms (mcg) of Folic Acid to reduce your chance of a baby with a birth defect such as spina bifida. Some women with pcos don't have difficulty getting pregnant, especially if you have regular periods. There are treatments to help you conceive, including medications such as metformin (glucophage). Clomid (clomiphene) and Letrozole (femara) can help you to ovulate if you are irregular. If you are under 35 and have been trying for up to a year, see an infertility specialist (reproductive endocrinologist). If you are 35 or over and trying for 6 months, 40 or over, or don't have regular cycles (such as cycles 40 days apart or more), see a specialist sooner for testing and treatment. Best wishes.
