I : I think you are referring to hsv (herpes simplex virus) type 2. This type usually affects the genitals but can be found in other locations. This is a very tricky virus, meaning one could have been exposed to it, contracted it and never had a herpes outbreak. Therefore it is very hard to determine when it was contracted. If you have tested negative (blood test) for hsv type 2 then there is no way you gave it to him. Also know that if you want to protect yourself from contracting the virus, you will have to use condoms. Take care.
