Hello. : Hello. I can not diagnose the reason that you have not become pregnant. Ulcers are part of the gastrointestinal tract and if uncomplicated; would not be likely to be impacting your fertility. Sometimes trying harder or having more sex is not the answer. You can look on line to get an ovulation predictor chart. There are also ovulation kits which you can purchase to help determine when you are ovulating. By timing sexual intercourse around the time of ovulation, it will increase the chance of an egg being fertilized. Having back to back sex usually is no help because a man's sperm count will drop a little after sex. If you wait at least a day inbetween his sperm count will be higher. You may wish to see your doctor for an evaluation if you are already doing these things, trying every month and still not successful. Take care.

Stomach : Stomach ulcers may be due to an infection (helicobacter pylori) which is treatable, but they don't cause difficulty getting pregnant. A year and a half is an above average length of time trying (85% of couples get pregnant in the first year of trying) but you may still get pregnant on your own. This is a good time to see a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinology/infertility or rei) to find out why you haven't got pregnant so far, and what kind of treatment you might need to get pregnant sooner. Rei physicians train in ob/gyn before specializing in fertility medicine. They can do tests to check the number of eggs left in your ovaries (ovarian reserve) which can go down as women get older. You should also be checked for hormonal problems which can stop you from getting pregnant including thyroid problems or polycystic ovarian syndrome, and they will check your uterus for fibroids or polyps and perform a hysterosalpingogram or hsg test to make sure that your fallopian tubes are both open and look normal. The male partner has a sperm problem in 40-50% of couples trying to conceive, so he will need a semen analysis (sperm test). After these tests the physician can come up with an individualized treatment plan to help you get pregnant. Best wishes.
