I don't know if there is a family history of heart disease, if you smoke, if you are obese, if you have high cholesterol or trigycerides. Chest tightness can occur with asthma. Whenever, i hear about chest tightness i wonder if the person has any chest pain, shortness of breath, pounding or racing heart, irregular hearbeat, numbness or radiation of pain down the left arm. A heart attack can also present as upper abdominal pain or even as pain in the jaw. I hope you are feeling ok. If you had a constellation of symptoms consistent with a heart attack, that would be a reason to call 911.
