Back : Back pain can be caused by a variety of conditions, including the muscle, disc pain, or irritation to the nerve roots. Kidney infections can cause back pain as well. Advil or tylenol (acetaminophen) and rest usually helps muscle pain. If a patient had swelling as you describe, with a golf ball sized lump, then they should consult their physician for a physical examination.

Pain: Most low back pain acute flare-ups can laat up to two weeks. Those lumps may be normal fat pads located by the left and right iliac regions of the pelvis. If the pain does not resolve, please seek out a doctor to examine you and give treatment options.
