Genetics: If you have a first degree relative(mother, sister, daughter) with breast cancer DX before age 50, if there are 2 relatives affected, use of estrogen for more than 8 years, dense breast tissue.

Risk assessment: There are specialists who will evaluate you risk, recommend screening, and advise you how to reduce such risk. They will also determine if you need genetic testing. Ask your family doc or gyn about this.
