The : The first MMR vaccine is given between 12 to 15 months old and the second is usually given between 4 to 6 years old. The general belief is that people born in 1956 or before, are likely to be immune. Women who desire to become pregnant should be vaccinated if they have low rubella antibodies (or haven't received previous rubella vaccination or mmr). However a woman should not be vaccinated when pregnant or if planning to become pregnant within the next 1 to 3 months. Anyone born between 1970 and 1979 who was only vaccinated against measles or anyone born between 1980 and 1990 who has not been vaccinated against mumps should also get mmr.
