A member asked:

Should i go in to the e.r? i am a 41 year old female, heavy menstrual cycle, big clots, extremely fatigued, snot looking discharge, and had a folopian tube removed one year ago

Yes : Yes you should seek help as soon as possible. Fatigue from heavy menses indicates that you are loosing a significant amount of blood causing anemia which can be detrimental to your heart over time. The bleeding may be a sign of low thyroid levels (hypothyroidism) or other hormonal imbalance that has caused thickening of the endometrial lining. A gyn doctor can give you medications to help stop the bleeding or do a D&C to stop the bleeding. Depending on how severely fatigued you are feeling, going to the er may be a better place to start. They can get a gyn doctor to see you sooner.
