A member asked:

Is it safe to take ranexa (ranolazine) while pregnant or breastfeeding?

It depends.: Ranexa (ranolazine) is a drug used for women with serious heart conditions. There are not many studies on its affect during pregnancy or breast feeding, so our knowlege of its safety is incomplete. It is best for you to talk to your heart doctor and your ob/gyn doctor before becoming pregnant if you are taking ranexa (ranolazine).

Hasn't been studied : Hasn't been studied well, depends upon the relative risks to you vs the fetus. Best to discuss w/both your cardiologist and your OB before becoming pregnant.
