There : There is a small chance that the chlamydia infection you had causes some scarring in your fallopian tubes. This usually occurs after about two years of untreated chlamydia and would likely have been preceded by a condition called pid (pelvic inflammatory disease). You did not mention you were diagnosed with that so I am assuming you never developed it. Therefore your odds of damage to your tubes go down even further. Your irregular periods will probably be more of an issue for you. Now would be a good time to see your gynecologist. Since you have not achieved pregnancy after 5 years of unprotected intercourse, then an infertility work up is in order of both you and your partner. There are tests that can be done to check to see if your fallopian tubes are not blocked, and also other blood tests to see if you are ovulating. Try not to worry, if needed infertility treatments have very good success rates. I wish you the best of luck.
