Nipples : Nipples can stretch with augmentation. If you can place your fingertips around your own areola and stretch them significantly, you will probably see enlarged size after augmentation. As far as color change, most nipple areolar complexes do not change pigmentation after augmentation. Best of luck to you.

The : The only thing i can add to the answers provided by the experts above is that you may see more of an enlargement of the areola after a breast augmentation above the muscle or certainly with larger implants. I hope this helps dr. Edwards.

It : It is normal for the areola to become slightly larger after breast augmentation. As far as the color is concerned, there is a chemical/hormonal change that takes place in the breast for a period of time after breast augmentation. This is usually transient and the color will most likely return to normal. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

Skin stretch: The implant adds volume to breast, so the skin has to stretch to accommodate the implant. The areola also stretches as the skin stretches, so they sometimes look larger. The pressure of the implant also helps a nipple that inverts to stay everted.

Augmentation: A breast augmentation surgery augments whatever you may have on the breasts. If you have freckles, they may appear larger. Same is true with areola. Of course the larger you go the greatter the chance of this occuring.

Implant Size: It depends on several features most importantly what you desire and your measurements. Bring in photos from a plastic surgeon's web site with you to your consultation.

Skin Stretch: Implants stretch skin including your areola. If you have concerns about the size of your areolas after surgery, try and stretch your areola with both hands. See how big it gets... That should give you a rough approximation of how it will look after augmentation.
