That : That is a very concerning symptom and he should be seen immediately. A sudden severe headache in a patient who does not usually get headaches should always have medical evaluation. If your doctor can't see him immediately, or if he has ongoing pain, vomiting, fever, or any weakness or numbness then he will have to go to the er.
