Sharp : Sharp chest pain is worrisome. There are multiple causes, some more dangerous than others. The reason a medical evaluation is in order is to rule out potential cardiac(heart) issues like decreased blood flow due to blockage in your hearts arteries, weak arteries that are possibly tearing (aortic dissection) these would be emergent situations. On the other hand it could be heartburn, or something called costochondritis (inflammation between the ribs) etc. With the limited information in your post, I am unsure what the cause of your pain is, if the pain has subsided and returns on occasion you should see your doctor. If it is severe you need to go to an urgent care or er. Take care.
