I : I am glad that you have had such a complete evaluation including a pap smear and vaginal ultrasound. Please be sure you are using lubrication, as women get older than more lubrication is necessary. You may also be having early peri-menopausal symptoms which can cause some vaginal dryness and discomfort, although you would be on the younger-side for that. I would also suggest asking more about the cyst at the opening of your uterus (i assume this is on your cervix?) and ask your doctor if they feel this could be contributing. If none of these ideas help, please seek out a second opinion by a different gynecologist. It is not normal to have pain during intercourse.
