There : There are a number of reasons why a child can develop abdominal pain, gastroenteritis (usually a viral infection of the intestines), appendicitis, a condition where the bowel folds in on itself called intussuception and occasionally something called a meckel's diverticulum . Since it sounds as if he cannot provide you with a good description of the pain and is clearly uncomfortable, it would be a good idea to have him see a physician to determine if there is a reason to admit and observe him or do additional testing.
