Tech vs. doctor: Radiation therapist is a certified technician that can help set up patients daily for accurate delivery of radiation prescribed by the radiation oncologist. Radiation oncologist is a board certified doctor (md or do) that specializes in treating cancer patients using radiation.

It is the same.: Years ago they called the doctors radiation therapist, then they changed that to radiation oncologist and the therapist was for the technician who delivers the treatment. The names are for use of radiation medically to treat disorders. Mostly cancer but other disorders as well.

Radiation therapy: Our specialty used to be called radiation therapy, but is now called radiation oncology. The actual procedure is called radiation therapy and is given by licensed non-md radiation therapists, under the supervision of a radiation oncologist (md).
