A member asked:

Pain in my hip only when i am sitting. sometimes it escalates to the joint on the top of my ankle no know allergies or family history

Without : Without more information, this is tricky to answer. If the pain radiates from your hip to ankle area, sciatic (or pain coming from a pinched nerve) comes to mind. Pain from arthritis in the hip is generally felt in the groin and is worse with walking. Pain from bursitis in the hip generally hurts more w/ lying on the side that is affected. There is also a bursa (ischial bursa) in the buttock area and when infammed can hurt w/ sitting down. I feel that you should start by discussing these symptoms with your primary doctor and a referral to a specialist may be needed.
