I : I cannot tell you why your period is 17 days late. There are a number of things which could be a reason for your symptoms including problems due to an ovarian cyst. Because you are having severe abdominal pain, you need to see your doctor. I suspect that you may have elected to ask this question in this forum rather than calling your doctor because you are apprehensive about the cause. I understand that this is a frightening matter, but you really should be in touch with your doctor.
