Mesotherapy : Mesotherapy involves multiple small injections into the skin of various chemicals depending on the intent of the treatment. Typically reddness and swelling will be present after the procedure and can last for several hours to days after the treatment. A optional technique is the use of a medical dermaroller which is roller with multiple fine needles that is applied by rolling the needlesover the area after applying a topical anesthetic. The small needles cause increased circulation into the dermis layer of skin as well as the release of growth factors from the blood plasma that stimulate fibroblasts to form new collagen and fill in acne scars. The procedure is performed in the office and swelling and reddness will last for a few days. Cover makeup and sunscreen can be applied over the reddness the day after the procedure. Depending on the depth of the scaring multiple sessions may be required to acheive desired results.
