Metronidazole : Metronidazole is pregnancy category b. There are no controlled studies in human pregnancies. During pregnancy, the decision needs to be made whether the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks, when alternative treatments have been ineffective. The patient should advise the doctor if she is pregnant or plans to become pregnant during treatment because Metronidazole use is normally avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy. I do not know if Metronidazole was associated with your pregnancy complications.
