14 : 14 weeks is pretty early to be certain about the sex of a fetus. Still, if you get lucky and happen to catch the baby in just the right position, you may see the external genitalia well enough to be fairly sure. I would not recommend getting another ultrasound just to check on the baby's gender. While ultrasound appears to be harmless to the baby, any unnecessary testing may have some small risk. Furthermore, there are costs associated with ultrasound that are probably not justified for the simple goal of addressing your curiosity. Depending upon your own age and certain other factors (a family history of genetic problems, decreased fetal movement, abnormal weight gain, etc), you may need another ultrasound anyway. If so, you could certainly ask the technologists to check again at that point.
