Usually : Usually a urine pregnancy test is done after a period is missed. A home pregnancy test is usually not positive six hours after intercourse. False positive pregnancy test readings are not common (the test shows you are pregnant when you are not). There are reasons that a pregnancy test might seem to be positive. The pregnancy test instructions should state how many minutes to wait to read the results. It you read the test well after the time stipulated, it could show up as a positive. After the urine on the test strip evaporates it could leave a faint line (usually gray) which might be mistaken that for a positive reading. In other words, if the pregnancy test is not used or interpretted correctly, the person reading the test might mistakenly think it is positive when it actually is not.

Does not add up: Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
