Pain : Pain in the area you describe -- the epigastric and periumbilical areas -- can be due to any number of conditions. Appendicitis often starts with pain in this region, but it typically progresses to severe right lower abdominal pain within 24 hours. Peptic ulcers, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining), gallbladder disease, and pancreatic disorders (including cancer) can present with dull pain in the epigastric and periumbilical regions. I've attached some links that might be helpful.
