My daughter is 20 weeks along and puking and now has diarrhea tummy is doubling over and can not keep anything down what should we do i have her sipping water and eating crackers to try and help

This : This sounds like a case of gastroenteritis (stomach flu). The most worrisome scenario in a case like this, for your daughter and her unborn child is dehydration. Immediate evaluation by her doctor is in order since dehydration can trigger pre-term labor. She may need IV hydration and further work up for other causes of her symptoms (i.E appendicitis, intestinal infection etc.). I hope she is better by now.

Hydration: Viral gastroenteritis has a duration of 10-14 days and may result in dehydration. There is loss of water and electrolytes. Pedialyte solution may provide hydration which replenishes water and electrolytes. Watch for signs of dehydration such as decreased urination, dry mouth and dry skin. Avoid dairy production and please see pediatric urgent care or your pediatrician soon.
