He : He should see a doctor right away if his symptoms are still present. He may have an obstruction in his colon, infection in his colon, amongst other things. The only way to know the cause is to have a medical evaluation. Good luck.

Sounding like: He may have a small bowel obstruction especially if he has had any prior abdominal surgery. May also be renal colic from a kidney stone. Either way he needs to be seen promptly by his pcp or go to an emergency room. This is not normal!
