You : You likely are dealing with an infection. You need a medical evaluation right away. You will likely be given a course of antibiotics and possibly have the wound incised, cleaned, and drained. In the meantime you can take advil (ibuprofen) or Ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation. Good luck.

Infected finger: I agree with Dr. Jackson. When the skin on your finger cracked open, it made a portal for germs to enter your body. This sounds like an infection that warrants medical attention. Take care
