Dry : Dry skin is a very common issue among children and adults. Here are a few tips to keep you from itching. - bathe daily with a moisturizing soap such as dove or aveeno (oatmeal). Do not use drying soaps like ivory which can make skin even drier. - apply moisturizer immediately after the bath while the skin is still damp - use an odorless, colorless thick cream moisturizer such as eucerine or aquaphor. It may be a little greasy, but it'll seal in the moisture much better than a lotion. If the patches are becoming red, scaly, irritated, or just aren't improving, call your child's doctor. Your child may have eczema (extremely dry skin) and may benefit from topical steroids to get the flare under control. Good luck.

Dry itchy skin patch: If lubrication alone not working, can use over the counter Hydrocortisone 1% ointment 3x/d until rash resolves, along with your lubrication 2x/d.
