There : There are a couple of possiblities with painful bright red blood with bowel movements. You could have actually developed a anal fissure (tear in the skin) of your anus from the difficult bm. It would look like a rip in the skin. The other possibility is a thrombosed(clotted) external hemorrhoid which would appear as a painful purplish lump on your anus. Either way, a high fiber diet, using medicated wipes (tucks), and avoiding heavy lifting or straining would be beneficial. If pain is not improved, you probably should see your physician or a colorectal surgeon for further evaluation and treatment.

Constipation : You could be having anal fissure or haemorrhoids . High fibre diet , laxatives , ultraproct ointment and suppository should help . If not improving then please see your GP .
