Your : Your symptoms make me wonder if you were not developing hypotension ( low blood pressure) during your activity---would probably be a good idea to get an exercise stress test to evaluate.

Hello, In : Hello, in addition to the good answers above, i would recommend making sure your carotid arteries are not narrowed due to cholesterol deposits reducing the blood flow to your brain and your eyes. Ask your doctor if you have increased cholesterol (check your fasting blood lipids). Have your doctor evaluate for need of doppler carotid ultrasound to evaluate the patency and bloow flow through your carotid arteries. In : In the back of the eye are nerves called retina. And there are nerves which allow us to see color (specifically red, green and blue) and nerves which allow us to see black & white. In the day light, retinal cells for the color are more active and in the dark, cells for black & white dominate. As the blood flow to the eye is limited, cells for the color is effected first and start to shut down. This leads to vision turning black & white. It seems like that during your "hard activity" lot of your blood is being directed away from the eye leading to your finding. You maybe hypotensive or have peripheral vascular disease for which you should be evaluated by your primary care physician.
