As : As you age, changes in your hormone levels can cause issues that can make sex uncomfortable. Luckily, they're treatable! here are a few tips below. - vaginal dryness: as you age, your estrogen levels decrease which can lead to vaginal dryness. Lubricants can help - don't be afraid to explore different kinds. Many of the newer, water-based ones can provide a silky smooth feel as opposed to the sticky old-fashioned medical types. - thinning vaginal walls: also a result of decreased estrogen. Talk to your ob/gyne. They may be able to prescribe a topical estrogen cream or other medication to help thicken vaginal walls and make sex more comfortable. - foreplay: make him work for it. As you age, it can take a little longer to become aroused, so enjoy each other for a while first - the more aroused you are, the more enjoyable the sex will be. The good news: your vagina doesn't shrivel up or shrink. You are just fine. And a tip for all women: urinate immediately after sex. This helps to wash out any bacteria that could have been pushed into your urethra while having sex, thus avoiding a urinary tract infection. And practice safe sex. Sexually transmitted diseases do not discriminate based on age.

Painful sex: After menopause sex can become painful due to lack of oestrogen . Vagina does not shrink . More fore play would help . If there are no contraindications your Family doctor can prescribe oestrogen cream which should help too.
