Spicule: Possibly this is a small piece of bone working its way out of the area. Think of it as a splinter of bone working its way out. If you fee something sharp here, then it is probably this. An x-ray of the area will help diagnose this. Most common in the top back area. Check with your dentist.

See a dentist ASAP.: There are so many possible causes i cannot list them on this site. I do know that you will only get to the bottom of this by visiting a dentist's office for an exam, correct diagnosis and proper treatment. Good luck!
