Possibly, yes: There are two types of herpes, oral and genital. Almost all oral is caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1); genital herpes is caused by both HSV1 and HSV2. You could be infected if you kiss someone with oral herpes (cold sores, fever blisters) or have intercourse (including oral sex) with someone with genital herpes.
