Eyelid : Eyelid twitching, fortunately, is not an indicator of impending death; however, it is frequently associated with ocular allergies or dry eye syndrome. If you are having other allergic symptoms, such as sneezing or runny nose, you might try an over the counter anti-histamine drop, such as alaway or zaditor (ketotifen). If these don't help, see your local ophthalmologist or optometrist for evaluation.

The : The information below is of general medical nature and does not constitute medical advice or treatment for any one particular patient. It does not create a patient-doctor relationship. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- eyelid twitches may be associated with surface eye problems, such as dryness, irritation, etc. However, more commonly, twitches are associated with fatigue, stress, lack of restful sleep, and caffeine. These spasms are usually intermittent. In most people, they are benign. The indications for seeing an ophthalmologist are: -- eyelid twitches that do not go away after 1 week -- drooping of the upper eyelid -- twitching that closes one's eyelids -- twitching involving other muscles of the face or twitching of both eyelid muscles -- other associated eye symptoms such as redness, swelling, discharge, pain, visual symptoms, etc.
