Call : Call 911. The medics can initaie medical treatment for heat stroke on arrival. Heat stroke is a serious medical condition that entails the body's inability to cool off, and exceeding body tempuratures of 104 degrees f and over. This can lead to tissuse and brain injury if the body is not cooled off and hydrated as soon as possible. In the meantime, place ice packs or cool water/towels on the victim, as this is part of the medical treatment. If ice packs or cool water/towels are placed on the person's arm pits, groin and head - these are areas that can cool off the victim fast. Once again, if heat stroke is suspected, call 911 and start the cooling process right away. Do not drive this person to the hospital yourself.

YES: If truely heat stroke, it is uniformly fatal if the patient is not cooled rapidly. Time to er is not the real issue, time to cooling is. Ems / coworkers / friends / other can start cooling pt w/cold packs to groin/axillae/neck and/or cool mist w/fan. Big point to remove from heat, & not induce shivering (creates heat). Most folks have heat illness instead, annoying, but not life threatening.

Heat Stroke!: Heat stroke is the most serious form of heat injury and is considered a medical emergency. If you suspect that someone has heat stroke -- also known as sunstroke -- call an ambulance immediately and give first aid until paramedics arrive. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/heat-stroke-symptoms-and-treatment#1
