Your : Your tubal ligation freed you from other forms of birth control, like oral contraceptives, that were likely masking anovulation. If you go 4-5 months between periods you are likely not ovulating regularly. In these instances we often use progestins to create withdrawal bleeding to protect a woman from developing endometrial hyperplasia and possibly cancer. Prolonged stimulation of the endometrium caused by anovulation can increase your risk for developing these conditions. I would make an appointment with your family physician or an ob/gyn for this complaint.
