Indirectly: Prostate cells require testosterone, the male hormone, to grow, and in general, people with high levels of testosterone are more likely to get excessive prostate growth, both benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and cancer. High testosterone is also associated with high libido. High psa is not a diagnosis - if it is over 4 or if it has gone up more than 50% in a year, biopsy should be considered.
