How do i tell the difference between stuttering and normal learning to talk?

Time: Stuttering, hesitation, mispronunciation of letters, misuse of words, made up words, are all part of learning to talk. If they persist over time, they are a problem. If they gradually fade as the child learns, you don't need to worry.

Don't Wait, Evaluate: Stuttering - tend to repeat syllables four or more times (a-a-a-a-as opposed to once or twice for normal). They mmmay also prolong sounds. & stuttering kids react - blinking, side glances, raising voice pitch. True stuttering is frequent, >3% of the speech. Normal? > when tired, anxious, or excited. Stuttering? Most of the time - & concerned, frustrated or embarrassed. Any ? Evaluate now not later.
