Not directly: Hiv by itself doesn't cause infertility. It doesn't cause scarring or malfunctioning of the ovaries. If HIV has progressed to aids, the degree of chronic illness is what is likely to affect fertility by suppressing ovulation. If an HIV patient is otherwise healthy, she can get pregnant. She needs to worry about transmission of HIV to a partner or to her fetus.

Male fertility: Hiv leads to low testosterone levels in more than 50% of men. This can cause subfertility but men with HIV are usually still fertile. Sperm washing and uterine inseminations can reduce risk of transmission of virus.
