Vascular Neurology: Transient ischemic attack, a transient focal brain dysfunction triggered by transient interruption of blood flow to that particular area of the brain can cause facial numbness. This could be precursor of a stroke although other conditions can mimic that. I suggest immediate evaluation with your physician for proper testing that can include a carotid ultrasound and brain mri.

Possible migraine: If this symptom is intermittent, then it can occur in association or as prodrome of migraine. Some times even headache may not occur with it.
