A : A specific temperature of 103 by itself is not "too high" a fever or elevated temperature is usually a sign that your body is fighting against an infection whether viral, bacterial or fungal. By raising its temperature, you body is trying to make the environment inhospitable to the invading organism. So the temperature of 103 by itself is not dangerous, but it will certainly cause you to feel poorly (nauseous, achy, tired, dizzy to name a few). You didn't really give enough information to know what is causing your fever. So what is more important to determine if a fever that high is dangerous are your underlying health risks...Things that might adversely effect your immune system...Cancer, hiv, autoimmune diseases, seizure disorders, artifical heart valves or joint, etc. That could make a normal illness more dangerous. Also, the accompanying symptoms to the fever are important to note that could be worrisome such as severe headaches or neck pains, inability to hold down food or drinks, or a focalizing sign(sore throat, ear pain, pain with urination that could indicatea specific bacterial infection) but in general, if you are feeling ok and a healthy person, a fever of 103 is not a problem. In any case, contacting your doctor's office is a good idea when in doubt or concerned about your fever or symptoms.
